Dr Yan is a Consultant in child & adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry. She holds specialist
qualifications in both Hong Kong and Australia, and has worked as a consultant psychiatrist in both
places. She was the honorary clinical assistant professor in Psychiatry of the Chinese University of
Hong Kong before her relocation to Sydney.
Dr Yan’s specialist qualifications include Fellowship of The Royal Australian & New Zealand College of
Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), Fellowship of the Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists (FHKCPsych), and
Fellowship of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in Psychiatry (FHKAM). She completed her
science degree in molecular biotechnology and general medical training in Hong Kong.
Her main area of interest is mental disorders in child & adolescent group and young adult group such
as ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder, depression, bipolar affective disorder, psychosis, anxiety
disorders, eating disorders and personality disorders. She also has experience in addiction psychiatry,
psychotherapy and forensic psychiatry.
