About
Dr Guo is a consultant psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). He completed the majority of his specialist psychiatric training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he gained extensive experience across acute inpatient, community, and emergency psychiatric services, managing a broad range of complex mental health presentations.
The proximity of RPA to University of Sydney provided Dr Guo with extensive exposure to the mental health needs of international students, including issues related to adjustment, stress, mood disorders, anxiety and cultural transitions.
Dr Guo has a strong clinical and academic interest in substance use disorders, with particular research focus on e-cigarette use. He also undertook further advanced training at Liverpool Hospital, where he worked with the Early Psychosis Intervention Service, developing specialist skills in the assessment and management of first-episode psychosis and severe mental illness in young people.
