About
Dr Williams is a consultant psychiatrist in Western Australia with over 30 years of experience in clinical psychiatry. He specialises in child and adolescent and family psychiatry treating the broad range of psychiatric disorders but has also always had a private practice treating adult with anxiety, depression and ADHD. He worked as consultant psychiatrist for the adolescent inpatient unit in Perth for several years before moving to Mandurah and working as consultant for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team for 16 Years.
After finishing there he has worked in the immigration detention centres in Leonora, Darwin and Christmas Island for 18 months and worked extensively part-time as a locum on the east coast in community and inpatient facilities. For a number of years prior to covid he was working half-time in private practice in Dee Why and Manly in Sydney in addition to his practice in Western Australia.
In the past 10 years he has also combined training in complimentary energy medicine based approaches to provide alternatives in treatment and a more holistic based approach where appropriate.
Over recent years in his private practice he has particularly specialised in neurodevelopmental issues seeing a large number of patients with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, sensory sensitivities, eating problems and high levels of emotional and behavioural problems who are struggling to cope both individually, in their families, schools and socially.
Dr Williams has lived for many years on 5 acres and finds connection with nature, animals, pets, watersports, his caravan and his family connections and support as his greatest outlets and balance for his own well-being.
