Dr Khanbhai graduated from the University of Queensland and spent his junior resident years in Brisbane. He gained further experience in psychiatry in the United Kingdom before returning to Sydney to complete his formal psychiatric training at Sydney Central Health District. He has had over 20 years’ experience of working in Public and Private Psychiatry, including subspecialty experience in forensic psychiatry.
Dr Khanbhai has had significant clinical experience in assessing and treating a wide range of complex psychiatric disorders, including ADHD, anxiety disorders (including generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD, and social anxiety,) mood disorders (including depression and bipolar disorder), substance misuse disorders, and schizophrenia. He has a special interest in forensic psychiatry with extensive experience in criminal and medicolegal reports.
Dr Khanbhai currently works in adult psychiatry in Sydney and is the director of psychiatry of an inpatient psychiatric unit in regional NSW. Dr Khanbhai has an empathic non-judgmental style of assessments and utilizes current evidence-based treatment to manage his patients. He is passionate about seeking the best individualized care for his patients to achieve optimal recovery of their condition.
