About
Ricardo was born in El Salvador and, after completing his Degree in Medicine and Psychiatry training, he moved to Australia to pursue advanced training in adolescent psychiatry with an internationally-recognised centre Orygen Youth Health (Melbourne) focusing on Early Interventions for young people with psychological needs.
Ricardo has almost 20 years of experience in psychiatry and 15 of these in Australia. He has an outstanding record with public mental health services, having worked with Melbourne Health at the Orygen Youth Health Clinic and thereafter with Northern Health where he was also lead consultant for the youth stream.
Since 2013 Ricardo has been in private practice in the Mornington Peninsula and continues to focus on Adolescent psychiatry and General Adult Psychiatry. Ricardo has extensive experience in consulting via face-to-face and telehealth, making a great contribution the the accessible mental health services in private practice.
Whenever there’s a chance, Ricardo loves to go Mountain Biking or Trail Running.
